This week in Denver multiple job hiring and networking events are scheduled starting off on Wednesday with the Denver Career Fair at the Doubletree, the Society of Hispanic Human Resources Professionals networking event with U.S. Bank, and the Broomfield Workforce Center annual Youth Job Fair.

Support “Kare for Kenya” Food Event

Kare for Kenya food packing program for the hungry

The “Kids Around the World” food program is holding their “Kare for Kenya” food packing event in Colorado.  Get behind this extremely critical program which will take place in Gunbarrel, Colorado.  Thousand’s of children in Kenya have perished and your effforts can change the outlook of the grim picture.

A $63 donation will feed 25 children for 10 days! – A $625 donation will feed an entire village for 25 days!  You can join in the packing event or make a secure on-line donation at the “Kare for Kenya” fund raising page.  The site includes a volunteer registration page.

Gunbarrel is located just south of Niwot, Colorado and east of the Diagonal.

This is a new and exciting job search site with some very resourceful features including automatic local search organized by company and industry, classification and a complete collection of on-line applications (PDF) from each represented company.

Here is a statement from one of the students responsible for the new site:

“We’re from the suburbs of Oakland, MI and attended Oakland University (it’s a smaller university).  We started this project because we had found in our little college study that more people get called back with paper applications being handed in person rather than applying online.  Since many college and high school students apply for jobs in the retail and restaurant industry, we thought it would be cool to have a paper application download for those to fill out at home.  On top of that, we also offer a feed for your local area, showing you what jobs are available so that you’re not wasting your time applying for jobs that aren’t hiring.  Since we are still in our growing stages, we wanted to get the word out to as many career related sites as possible.”
